Aleph - The One, The Thousand, The Beginning, and The Wonder

The Aleph - The Beginning, The One, The Thousand, The 26, The Wonder.

The Hebrew language, as opposed to the English language - is rife with symbolism both in Gematria and in construction. When we talk about the Bible and the verses within - not a single verse means what you think it does or what is written in English. English is a dead, useless, illogical language that has evolved (in the worst possible) way over time - where as Hebrew was created specifically to describe reality. The language you speak, dictates the way you will interpret reality, and if you're speaking a dead language - you're interpreting your reality that way.

Let's start off with the basics of The Aleph. In the Hebrew alphabet there is something called "Gematria" - in which every letter has a numerical value, and even a sub-numerical value when the letter is spelled out, and it means something both spelled forward and backward. The Aleph, being the first letter of the aleph-bet (alphabet) - has a numerical value of "1".

It's symbolism also represents the "oneness" with God, something higher than Human understanding, The Head (or mind) of God, and the 1000 things in one. Let's dive into this. Every letter in the Hebrew Aleph-Bet is made up of other letters.

The letter "Aleph" is made up of 2 "Yod's" and a "Vav".

On the left - we have the "basic" combination of the letters Yod+Yod+Vav laid out so you can see how the Aleph is constructed of them (Remember the "J" makes a "Yuh" sound in Hebrew). On the right we have the letters spelled out that the Aleph is made of to give us the sub-sub Gematria of the singular letter Aleph. Like I'd said - Hebrew is alive, it's living, it's incredibly in depth, and speaks to you and your reality on a level of quantum physics and symbolism - not just a "word" that means only that word (like saying "table" in English literally means nothing but "table" - but if we were to spell out "Table" in Hebrew, there would be multiple ways to spell it out and multiple levels of Gematria to comprehend). Let's back up just a little bit now - and spell out the word "Aleph" in Hebrew to look at it's numerical values and the letters. The word Aleph will be made of the letter Aleph, Lamad, and Peh (or Pey) as pictured below (remember - Hebrew is read Right to Left).

In Hebrew - Every letter and word can be pronounced with multiple vowels, as depicted below the letters (advanced Hebrew speakers just "know" how to pronounce the words and sentences). Above we have the Qamats (long "a" sound) under the Aleph and a Segol (short "eh" sound) under the letter Lamed. This gives us the verbal sound of Ahh-lehph - or Aleph. So in essence this would be the way we would spell out the letter "Aleph" (the short way anyhow). The 2nd level Gematria of "Aleph" would be by adding the numerical value to each of the letters when we spell out the letter (Aleph-Lamed-Peh). Aleph =1, Lamed = 30, and Peh = 80 - giving us a total of 111.

In such we see represented the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The 3 in 1(1+1+1 or 111), or the Trinity being unified as ONE. Past, Present, and Future up which "Jesus" was crucified (I put "Jesus in parentheses only because that's not his Hebrew name, different topic for later). It is the symbolism of the 3 parts being singular of the God head which is the absolute.

While leaving the letters alone, but changing the vowels and how we pronounce the word - we understand that God must be viewed in more than one way to understand fully, by changing the number of ways in which we view the creator. By changing just one what we call "vowel" in English, changing the first Qamats to Segol (from an "ah" sound to an "eh" sound) we are given the word "Eleph".

Just as within OUR lives - each Hebrew word is a set of potential waiting to be unleashed on how we use it or how we are used. The word "Eleph" (pronouncing the same word differently) means 1000.

Now that we've gotten this far with the Aleph, let's go back to the number "1". The Hebrew word for "one" is `echadh - אחד. When we combine all of this in the logical mind, we get 1, the Trinity (3), 111, and 1000. But we're not done yet. When we spell the letter backwards - we get the word Pela - or "wonder".

This brings in the emotional, right hemisphere of the brain aspect of Hebrew - or the feminine side, as we need unification and to get the real meaning of the number ONE and the Aleph - we must merge both the Masculine and the Feminine aspects into a singular one. When logically and emotionally combined and unified - we get the understand that the Creator is not only 1, but also the 1000 things, the Trinity, all in ONE - and that it's all a WONDER.

All of creation is a wonder, YOU are a wonder, your breath and the gift of life is a reflection of spiritual realm made physical into a WONDER. You are a mirrored image of the creator that is breathtaking, a miracle, a wonder - and your every breath is something to give thanks for. By taking the understanding of a singular letter and the number of things it represents, you can start to see how much more advanced the Hebrew language is, and how it teaches you to look deeper beneath the surface of everything.

The final note I'd like to leave with you before next time is a the single word "Elemi" - which means "as above, so below".

We can see this entire word, and entire translation, and the part of the Lord's Prayer "As it is in Heaven, so it is on Earth" - mirrored in the Aleph.

Just as your physical life is a reflection of your spiritual life - all of creation is mirrored in the Heavens. The single letter "Aleph" is your reminder and your mirror - asking you to look at yourself and how you live your life. Are you living for that which is temporary - that of the Earth? Or are you preparing yourself for the Spiritual realm which is Eternal? Where the Creator is seen face to face - where your "soul" will reside.

Each morning as you rise - give thanks for the sun rising for yet another day. See it as your chance to start again, and pray for the world and all of the people in it. Each of them is a mirror in which you see yourself, each of them is YOU. When Jesus said to "love thy neighbor as thyself" - how can you love your neighbor if you don't love yourself? Find the wonder, find the 1000 things in 1 thing all around you. From the complexity of a flower, to simplicity of the moment between breaths. Just as God is in everything and Everything is in God - so too are you a reflection of that Creator and all the Cosmos. You are the dust of the Earth animated and given Breath - let each breath remind you of that. Also, remember why you are here.

To not only recognize that which lives within you - but to help your fellow Man realize that within themselves as well. It's not about religion - it's about your relationship with the creator.
